File Markup and region tagging

The file markup feature is what makes Uncle Hextor special. With it, a programmer can work with an unknown binary format, modifying bytes to see their effect, and recording the discoveries in the markup editor.

Simply select an area of bytes and tag them with a name -- Uncle Hextor will then colorize the selection for easy recall. But that's not all...

Export visual markup as XML

Uncle Hextor can save the structure of all the tagged regions as XML. Save the markup in an XML file and use it as a portable file specification, and your parser can read the new format without recompiling.

Industrial-strength hex editor

Uncle Hextor is a fully functional hex editor, with all the search (regular expressions and simple search for ASCII and hex) and jump (highlight a value and go) features you could ask for, it allows you to change individual bytes in a file that can be as large as your hard drive.

Uncle Hextor is developed by Wave Orbital LLC, in partnership with Weird Kid Software LLC.
